BQ Studio is an architectural and consulting firm focused on co-creation and facilitation. The BQ team designs environments that inspire, unite, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations. They work with major development companies on complex, thoughtfully designed projects, creating architectural and urban planning concepts, offering consulting services, and implementing educational initiatives.
Our challenge was to develop the brand strategy, emphasizing the brand platform and communication strategy. Together with the studio’s internal team, we defined BQ Studio’s mission: to create environments that inspire, unite, and leave a positive legacy. The central concept is the role of the ‘Creative Director of the Environment’, capable of translating complex business challenges into a language that is both understandable and inspiring for all project participants.
BQ Studio’s identity was crafted with a focus on the soft, non-intrusive transformation of space. The core idea is that content (text, symbols, logo) not only occupies space but also shapes and adapts it, depending on placement. This reflects the concept of soft power – a gentle force that transforms the environment subtly, without disrupting it. In the role of the ‘Creative Director of the Environment,’ BQ Studio guides these transformations, shaping harmonious and cohesive spaces.
The graphic elements in BQ Studio’s identity are dynamic, ‘living’ structures that represent real processes within the environment. They occasionally break grids and rules, symbolizing an ever-changing reality that can evolve in various directions. The typography supports this by being clean and precise, yet with experimental elements, reflecting the brand’s flexibility and adaptability. As the ‘Creative Director of the Environment’, BQ Studio balances conceptual architecture with real-life functionality, creating spaces where aesthetics and function merge seamlessly.
The color palette uses natural and complex shades to convey depth and thoughtfulness. The pairing of Grotesque and Serif typefaces adds contrast, balancing modernity with tradition, and allowing the brand to speak a language of contrasts and oppositions.
Physical applications, such as paper and folders, play a role in transforming space. The folds of the sheets and the placement of the BQ letters create an illusion of changing form and space, symbolizing the brand's subtle yet effective influence on its surroundings. These small details contribute to a cohesive vision, showcasing BQ Studio’s values, expertise, and perspectives on architecture and educational urban initiatives.
